The Music Train has added a new car to its track and is now offering guitar lessons for elementary age students at Edison! Your child will learn the fundamentals of guitar, including introduction to the instrument and its parts, strumming, open chords, basic music theory and more. Taught in a nurturing, creative and experiential group setting with Jen Lapinski, a talented Denver singer/songwriter and guitar instructor. Students need to bring their own guitars each week.
Grades: 2-5 (returning students) • Mondays • 3:35-4:35pm • Starts 1/11/10 • $150/10 weeks • Jen Lapinski
GL2-For graduates of GL1 or more advanced beginners. Classes include scales, practice techniques, songs, strumming patterns, chord structure, and tuning.

GL1-This class includes instrument exploration, how to treat, hold and take care of your instrument, basic theory, beginning techniques, tuning, simple songs.
Grades: E-1 • Wednesdays: 8:00-8:45am • Starts 1/13/10 • $150/10 weeks • Jen Lapinski
GC-For this younger age we offer an introduction to guitar and music theory through art, movement and instrument exploration.
